Politics

• According to Kalameh, Mir-Hossein Mousavi was hospitalized after a heart attack. He is now under house arrest. 
  • According to Fararu, Mousavi's health condition has improved and his family can visit him. It adds that "the counter revolution's attempts at depicting a bad picture of his health is a total lie."
• Ahmadinejad visits East Azerbaijan province two weeks after the earthquake.

Diplomacy

• Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami, Tehran temporary Friday prayer leader, in an interview with Howzeh warns that the sixteenth summit of the Non Aligned Movement in Tehran is threatened by "the heads of the sedition" and urges the opponents of the government not to "burn" the "interests of Islamic Iran" in the presence of foreign guests.
• Japan extends $1 million aid to victims of earthquake in East Azerbaijan province.

• Tabnak "discloses" the "IAEA’s plot to spy on Iran's nuclear facilities."

Economy

• Hojjat al-Eslam Kazem Sediqi, temporary Tehran Friday prayer leader:
  • "Under present conditions, we must create an atmosphere in which the vulnerable layers of society are not harmed. Our revolution was the revolution of the shanty town dwellers and the bare feet, our martyrs were mostly from the southern parts of the city, and the people financed the war with their personal savings,. So the duty of the government and the authorities is to save them and not letting them suffer..."
