Military and Security 

  • Third generation of the Fateh-110 Missile is delivered to the Revolutionary Guards.
  • Commander Hossein Hamadani, Greater Tehran Revolutionary Guards unit chief: "Also in soft warfare, there are those who want to force the chalice of poison upon the Guardian Jurist and we saw traces of this during the era of discord..."
  • Hamadani and Hojjat al-Eslam Shirazi, the Supreme Leader's representative to the Revolutionary Guards Navy, oppose the public debate on "black box” surrounding the end of the war."
    • Hojjat al-Eslam Ali Saidi, the Supreme Leader's Representative to the Revolutionary Guards: "One can't explain the circumstances in which the blessed Imam accepted the [U.N. Security Council] Resolution 598 and, as he said, drank from the chalice of poison. But one can point at some of the dependent factors concerning the end of the war... In my opinion the way in which the war ended was not so pleasant and it is like a black box which can't be demystified easily... When Imam Khomeini saw that there were demands of procurement of modern arms and equipment he felt that the war could not be continued like before... The second dependent factor is the change in the nature of war slogans. The slogan of the Imam was "War war until eradication of the discord," which was changed by some into "war war until victory." Since there was no compatibility between the mentality of the Imam with this slogan a kind of factionalism and conflict was created within the body of the armed forces in that era... Complexity of the war theater and the United States and other super powers directly intervening in the war were among the reasons behind acceptance of Resolution 598."
  • Army Ground Forces Chief Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan: "Three decades of sanctions has led to our military self-sufficiency."

Economy

  • Fars News reports that the cash handout may not be transferred to the bank accounts of the applicants tomorrow as promised by the government earlier.
  • Qalibaf, Tehran Stock Exchange executive director, says the companies have not provided share holders with analysis of the consequences of the economic reform program because they themselves are not informed by the government.
  • Tehran City Council issues "participation bonds" to finance the Tehran metro as the government denies funding to the project.

Trade

  •  Mostafa Motavarzadeh, spokesman of the coastal and port cities of Iran parliamentary faction, says companies in China have expressed readiness to assume operation of port facilities in Southern Iran.
