      • "During the long years of service of the ninth cabinet, there was always a sincere and close relationship between me and our commendable brother Mr. Mottaki...."

      • "Change in Mr. Ahmadinejad’s cabinet is constructive and positive … Change does not undercut Mottaki’s qualifications. No one questions his qualifications and competence..."

      • "There is a website close to a parliamentarian… which has falsely claimed that Mashaei decides the cabinet ministers. This website and its magazine is the gate to hell."

    • Parliamentarian Reza Akrami: "Even in villages they ask why he [Mottaki] was sacked in this way."

  • Reactions to Ahmadinejad's sacking of National Youth Organization Director Mehrdad Bazrpash:

  • Judiciary Spokesman Hojjat al-Eslam Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ezhehi says Vice President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi faces corruption charges.

    • Ezhehi adds: "Should it be expedient for the regime, we would arrest the heads of the sedition today."
