February 2, 2012
Threat Type: Violent Incident

Threat Intensity: None

Pakistani fighter jets bombed several Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) hideouts in the Kurram and Orakzai tribal regions on Wednesday. Over twenty militants were killed and many more injured. Security forces destroyed the hideouts of two local TTP commanders Mullah Toofan and Maulvi Moinuddin. Moinuddin was reportedly killed in the strike. Security officials said the bombing was in response to Tuesday’s Taliban attack on a check post, where ten Pakistani soldiers were killed and 32 wounded (Reuters).
