U.S. drones conducted two separate strikes hours apart of each other, killing at least 13 militants in North Waziristan on Thursday. The first strike destroyed a compound in Spalga near Miram Shah, killing five militants who were reportedly loyalists of Badar Mansoor and the Haqqani network. The second strike, according to a Pakistani security official, may have killed up to 12 militants traveling in a vehicle east of Mir Ali, all of whom were Uzbek Islamist fighters (AFP).
